Gabby cares about mental health and the environment.
She enjoys talking about ice cream and pizza, music and vinyl, photography as art, simple living, and sustainability. She likes creating clay figurines and rubber stamps in her free time. She also loves assembling furniture and rearranging them.
She writes and releases music under the name Lucky Chan. She is also part of the electronic music duo Jay Stubbing.
Mental health is health. End the stigma.
Photography should be used to connect with other people. It should be able to evoke both emotional and mental curiosity, and to encourage both external and internal dialogue.
I always try to see the fascinating in the mundane. In my works, I try to push my personal boundaries to visualize my emotions, ideas, and ideals. My photographs are more influenced by music than any other art, including photography. I am a very solitary person, especially when it comes to taking photographs–my preferred company is music. I like exploring the relationships between sound and space to visualize the emotions I get from music. And like in music and poetry, I also try to make straight photographs that can be read in more ways than one–still having more to offer if you are willing to take a closer look.
My foremost goal is to use photography as a means of growing by discovering, and ultimately, understanding my own truths and the truths of those around me.
