Artist Statement

For me, photography should be used as an avenue to connect with other people. It should be able to evoke both emotional and mental curiosity, and to encourage both external and internal dialogue.

In my works, I try to push my personal boundaries to visualise my emotions, ideas, and ideals. My photographs are more influenced by music than any other art, including photography. I am a very solitary person when it comes to taking photographs– my preferred company is music. I like exploring the relationships between sound and space to visualise

the emotions that I get from music. And like in music and poetry, I also try to make straight photographs that can be read in more ways than one– still having more to offer if you are willing to take a closer look.

My foremost goal is to use photography as a means of growing by discovering, and ultimately, understanding my own truths and the truths of those around me.
